In order to join the TSPRS, a surgeon must meet the following requirements:

• Completed at least five years of surgical training with at least two years specializing in plastic surgery
• Trained and experienced in all areas of plastic surgery and only operates in accredited facilities
• Adheres to a strict code of ethics and participates in continuing medical education including standards for patient safety
• Is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery

Is there a membership fee? The current fee to join is $150 per year. A questionnaire will need to be filled out and copies of the American Board of Plastic Surgery certification as well as the membership certificates to particular societies such as ASPS.

Will TSPRS have meetings on a regular basis? TSPRS will meet yearly in conjunction with the Tennessee Medical Association meeting.

What professional resources will be available to members? We hope to make the ability to have preferred professional partners who cater to and have preferred relationships with plastic surgeons. We hope to be able to provide chat rooms or discussion areas for complications or care management. We also hope to provide resources for political and legal relationships and influence.
